Nathaniel Brawn, who joined CMVC as pianist in September 2018,  read music at the University of Surrey (conducting: Russell Keable, piano: Dr Maureen Galea). He was twice winner of the Croser-Hughes Chamber Music Prize as a pianist and held the HR Taylor Trust Scholarship for Viola.  He is director of music at Wetherby Preparatory School, London, coordinator of Alpha Plus Group’s Music Leaders, and consort leader and accompanist for the Eton Choral Courses. He also juggles freelance orchestral and ensemble work, including chamber music for the BBC’s Songs of Praise. Previously a chorister and then official accompanist at Highcliffe Youth Choir, Nathaniel was the choir’s director of music from 2011 to 2014. While there he recorded an album of James Hook’s music alongside acclaimed musician and pedagogue David Owen Norris, and took the choir to compete successfully in national and international competitions. He now directs several choirs at Wetherby Prep which tour internationally each year. He still  performs regularly with the Stratus Ensemble, Kantanti Ensemble, Kensington Symphony Orchestra and Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra and is the official accompanist for the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama. He is elated to be working with the CMVC.
