Choir shines at Boxpark

SEPTEMBER 24: An impressive CMVC contingent delighted Croydon shoppers and lunchers at East Croydon Boxpark on Sunday. Choir members sang along to tracks from their recent recordings, including the brand-new CD Brothers, Sing On. They included several tracks from their Christmas Album, encouraging Croydon to start thinking about the upcoming festive season, when the choir CDs prove to be excellent Christmas presents!

The audience offered many appreciative comments together  with contributions to a charity collection shared with the Samaritans.  In addition, after MC Dave Bannister asked if it was anyone’s birthday, eight-year-old Dylan was thrilled at being serenaded with a four-part harmony Happy Birthday.

The Boxpark facilities were excellent, with a meaty sound system and huge overhead screen showing a fascinating video of the choir at work and play, produced by choir member Paul Binge. Boxpark Events Manager David Byrne was delighted with the choir and told them: "Please come back."

After nearly four hours, a choir subset retired to Cronx bar next door. Inevitably, after downing several pints of first-class ale, they burst into song again. One customer enjoyed it so much that he missed two trains home...
