New pianist joins choir
AUGUST 2: David Terry has joined CMVC as its new pianist, replacing Nat Brawn who left the choir for a teaching job in China at the end of June.

Following auditions on 1 July, David played at his first choir rehearsal on 8 July, performing with aplomb on a keyboard while the choir continued with its outdoor rehearsals at Sandilands. David also accompanied the choir when it sang at the memorial service for Bernard Weatherill in Wimbledon on 30 July. His virtuoso rendition of the solo part in the Finlandia Hymn was widely praised.
David has a wealth of musical experience. Originally from Kingston upon Thames, and a graduate of Lincoln College, Oxford, he taught music at Downside School, then at the London Oratory School where he was director of music for six years.
David plays, top tenors pay attention
David spent two years in Brazil, where he was head of music at St Paul’s School in São Paulo. On returning to the UK he took up his current post as director of music at St James Senior Boys’ School in Ashford, Surrey.
David is an accomplished organist as well as pianist, and has held positions at Wells Cathedral, Hampstead Parish Church and as director of music at St Columba’s in Pont Street, Chelsea. He was organist at São Bento Monastery during his time in São Paolo, and is currently director of music at St Mary’s, Brookfield. He is also a composer of choral music for Novello publishers.
David is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and is an Associate of both the Royal College of Music (ARCM) and the Royal College of Music (ARCO). This is his first experience of
