The choir enjoyed a brilliant return to Essex on Saturday, singing with the Swift Singers in South Woodham Ferrers and thus renewing a musical partnership that now stretches back for a decade or more.

Joyful Christmas return at St John's
December 12: The choir staged a spirited Christmas concert on Saturday December 11, winning plaudits and a standing ovation from a packed audience at St John’s, Shirley.
The choir was performing its first concert in Croydon since lockdown, following its appearance In West Wickham in Octoberr. It ranged through a selection from its current repertoire, including two numbers sung for the first time, Go West and Ashokan Farewell. Its rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah, sung as an encore, brought the audience to its feet.

Remembering Dot
DECEMBER 3: Choir members sang on Monday in memory of Dot Stevens at the Croydon care home where she died in September. Dot was the beloved wife of choir top tenor George Stevens and they had been married for 64 years.

The choir performance, at Hayling Park Care Home, lasted for an hour and included a range of songs from its current repertoire. Nessun Dorma and When the Saints were especially well received.

We're back!
OCTOBER 12: Dave Bannister writes: "We're back!" These were Music Director Roger Pinsent's first words to a packed and expectant audience at the church of St Francis of Assisi in West Wickham on Saturday. Twenty months had passed since our last concert performance and choir members were in a state of nervous anticipation.

Choir returns to stage
AUGUST 25: The choir staged a triumphant return to live performances with an appearance at the Oval Tavern, East Croydon, on Sunday that wowed the audience and delighted choir members, who were thrilled to be back singing together in public at last.
