Shield surprise for Kim
April 13: CMVC chair Kim Ormond was in for a big surprise at the choir’s annual dinner on Saturday.
The dinner traditionally includes the presentation of the choir’s annual Alan Robertshaw Shield. This is awarded to a member or members considered to have made a significant contribution to the choir’s activities during the previous year.

Lana blown away by choir
March 23: A brilliant CMVC concert in Selsdon yesterday brought a reunion with its former pianist, Lana Bode, playing with the choir after an interval of ten years.
Lana, CMVC pianist from 2010 to 2014, now a star of the international circuit, dazzled the audience with her playing. She also delivered lavish praise for the choir’s singing – “I was blown away,” she said.

February 21 2025: CMVC has won high praise from one of the leading figures of British choral music.
Ben Parry: "They sound awesome"
Ben Parry is a distinguished musician, composer, conductor and singer. He directs London Voices, an acclaimed professional choir, and was previously artistic director of the National Youth Choir.
Singers and dancers come together for Iain
November 16: CMVC joined the Madder Mill Molly Dancers and the Sandilands ShantyMen on Saturday in a memorable evening raising funds to help Iain, recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease. Croham Hurst Golf Club generously provided their capacious hall free-of-charge for this worthwhile cause.

October 22: CMVC is joining forces with two other local groups to perform at a benefit event for its member Iain, who has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Choir in the news again
October 21: Croydon Male Voice Choir hit the media again with an extensive report in the lively local news site, Inside Croydon. The site had learned about the choir’s frustration at being banned from resuming its customary Christmas performances at the Whitgift Centre.
The choir has sung at the centre for the past ten Christmases, raising thousands of pounds for local charities such as Crisis at Christmas, Croydon Vision and Croydon Council’s Just Giving Fund for victims and families of the Sandilands train crash.
