Exhilarating debut for new music team
October 23: Croydon Male Voice Choir staged an exhilarating concert at St John’s, Coulsdon, yesterday. The concert saw the first appearance of the choir’s new music team, music director Matthew Quinn and pianist Sam Prouse.

October 8: CMVC has started its new season with a new music team. Matthew Quinn has taken over from Roger Pinsent as music director and Sam Prouse replaces David Terry as accompanist.

Choir drinks beer festival dry
COME AND JOIN US A number of people at the beer festival said they were interested in joining the choir. They are welcome to attend our informal singalong sessions at Sandilands Sports Club, Addiscombe, on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 9pm. This gives an excellent sense of what the choir is about. July 29: Choir members who enlivened the Bromley Beer Festival with their singing yesterday also made a substantial contribution to drinking the festival dry.
The festival, at Beckenham Rugby Club, was due to last for three days. But it ran out of beer on the second evening, and choir members were credited with having hastened that outcome with their impressive quaffing of the fine range of real ales on offer.
Farewell to Roger
July 18: The choir said farewell to music director Roger Pinsent at its summer concert on Saturday, July 16. Roger received multiple prezzies, a speech of thanks from the choir chair, and resounding applause from the audience.

Choir storms to concert triumph
June 21: The choir scored a stunning triumph with its part in the two-choirs concert at Croydon Minster on Saturday June 18.
It sang two scintillating sets and won resounding applause and widespread praise from its concert partners in the Croydon Philharmonic Choir. CMVC music director Roger Pinsent said it was the best concert he had conducted in his four years with the choir.

Choir tours Peterborough - at last!
May 19: The choir enjoyed a rollicking tour of Peterborough over the weekend of May 13-15, singing in two concerts as well as at the city’s renowned cathedral. The tour brought to fruition plans first laid for 2020, but postponed twice due to Covid.
